Folding Screen & Wall Art

product image.jpg

A “byobu” (wall art) is a “living work of art” that elegantly divides a space while beautifully capturing the shifting play of light and shadow. Originating in the Nara period (710–794 CE) as a windbreak for the imperial court, it eventually evolved into a “moving wall of art” that reflects the owner’s status and personal story.
Taizando, inheriting the master craftsmanship passed down for over 120 years, meticulously crafts each piece—from traditional gold-leaf folding screens to “art panels” that seamlessly blend into contemporary architecture.
